Submerged it in four gallons of oil at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Yours Truly, in welding mask and gauntlets, removes the Thanksgiving turkey from its delicious oil bath and makes ready to hand off to his father, right.

This year, I cooked the turkey. We broke out the old ring burner and set it up out in the shop. My brother and I injecto-basted the twelve-pound bird with a commercial butter based marinade that was so foul smelling my brother wondered if the thing would come out tasting like theater popcorn.

I put on the protective gear and got to work. The end product was tasty, though it did make the tool shop reek like all hell for a couple of days. I hope to have some video of the submerging soon, as well as more pictures from the trip.
